Mediation Hub

Practitioner-led development

Built with mediators.

Mediation Hub’s ten workstreams were developed with experienced family-law and mediation practitioners. Ashlie Prescott and Anna Vollans helped identify the real operational pressures facing mediation practices and shape the workflows around how mediators actually work.

Why practitioner input was essential

Mediation administration is not generic case admin. The sequence of a MIAM, two-party disclosure, session records and professional review carries obligations that only practitioners see day to day. Designing the workstreams without that experience would have produced software that looked plausible and failed in a live case.

How real pain points informed the ten workstreams

The workstreams began as a list of the tasks that consume disproportionate time in a mediation practice: chasing disclosure, reassembling information that arrives in pieces, writing up sessions, and keeping billing and referral activity tied to the underlying case. Each workstream exists because a practitioner described the problem it removes.

Why mediator judgement and approval remain central

Mediation Hub organises information and prepares drafts. It does not advise, and it does not decide what is fair or adequate. Nothing is issued to a party or a professional without mediator review and approval, and the record shows who approved what.

Practitioner-led workflow design versus generic software

General practice-management software models matters, tasks and invoices. Practitioner-led design models the work itself — the order it happens in, the information each stage needs, and the professional checkpoint at the end of it. That difference is the reason the ten workstreams are connected rather than parallel.

Ashlie Prescott

Ashlie Prescott

Family Lawyer and Accredited Family Mediator

Pathway Mediation

Ashlie brings 28 years of family-law experience, has been an accredited family mediator since 2013, and still runs her own mediation practice, so she knows first hand the administrative load that comes with the work. Her work spans children and parenting matters, financial arrangements and complex financial cases involving businesses, trusts, farming assets and property portfolios.

Contribution to Mediation Hub

Ashlie helped ensure Mediation Hub reflects the practical demands of active family mediation cases, from party onboarding and financial disclosure to session records and professional review.

Anna Vollans

Anna Vollans

Founder, Accredited Family Mediator and Professional Practice Consultant

Vollans Mediation

Anna founded Vollans Mediation in 2011 after ten years as a family solicitor. She is an accredited family mediator, a Professional Practice Consultant and a board member and former Co-Chair of the Family Mediators Association.

Contribution to Mediation Hub

Anna helped shape the ten connected workstreams around the operational realities of running a mediation practice, maintaining professional standards and supporting cases consistently from referral through to completion.

Ashlie Prescott and Anna Vollans contributed practitioner insight to the design of the ten workstreams. They hold no role, title or position within Mediation Hub, and Mediation Hub does not provide legal advice or replace professional judgement.
